We at the Jyoti unit of D. B. M. S. accomplish our first social service task for the academic session : 2011 -2012 by paying our visit to Shishu Bhawan (Orphanage) and Nirmal Hriday (An old age home) with our new members of Std. VIII on 25th of June, 2011.
We had collected money through the newspaper drive which was utilised to procure items of daily use, for distribution among the inmates. Our visit was a turning point for some of us as we had never realised the pain of being alone. We shared some moments and tried to spread happiness among the unfortunate ones by talking to them and distributing sweets and chocolates amongst them. Some of us taught Nursery Rhymes and played with little ones of the orphan age. Few could not stop themselves shredding tears realising at the moment how privilege are we to have a loving and caring family. With this little effort, we at D. B. M. S. tried to fulfill the motto of JYOTI.
