British Council through its Connecting Classroom community organized a Stamp Designing Challenge, the theme for which was “Friendship Through Sports And Games” In the first stage the students had to design a stamp and write 150 words synopsis about it.

Our students Shubadeep Das of X ‘C’ and Jayant Prasad of IX ‘B’ successfully cleared the first stage by 18th March and their stamp was displayed in a poster size by the British Council in New Delhi.
In stage 2 we had to form an online team with five other national and international schools. Our team comprised of:

  • Bachpan High School, Ahmedabad
  • Center Point, Nagpur
  • Ladies College , Colombo, Srilanka
  • Trinity College, Srilanka
  • Dyffryn Taf, U.K.

In the month of August 2011 Each of these five schools including our school had to design two stamps each on the subject and theme decided by 6 teams which was ‘Friendship through Football and Cricket’.

As this was an online project the stamps designed by each school were posted on the project space provided by British Council Connecting Classroom community, along with a 150 words synopsis about the same as well as School Profile (400 Words).. Out of these twelve the ten best were voted by each team. Out of these ten the British Council judges will decide on the winner and the selected one will be released as stamps for sale by Royal Mail at Royal mail outlets in India and the U.K.
