“Earth Day” was celebrated by D. B. M. S. English School on 22nd April, 2015. This day was observed through a number of activities which were organized for the students of various levels. The Primary level students participated in a Fancy Dress Competition and took part in an Earth Day Parade creating awareness about a number of environmental hazards.
The students of the middle school level participated in activities such as ‘Best out of Waste’, ‘Recipes for a Better Planet’, Calendar Making’ and solved Crossword Puzzles. The students of High School staged a Nukkad Natak and also sang a song at the morning assembly spreading the message to ‘save our planet earth’. Poetry writing competition and Collage making competition was also organized for High School students. The students of the Plus Two level participated in a ‘Treasure-Hunt’ – Ecothalon. All the activities spread the message of protecting the planet from environmental degradation and to take constructive steps to curb environmental hazards.
Students were asked to observe one hour in the evening (from 7-8 p.m.) when they would switch off lights and fans to generate awareness about the importance of electricity in our lives. These activities were witnessed by the Member of the School Managing Committee, School Principal, Mrs. Rajani Shekhar, Vice-Principal – Mr. P. K. Sahu, Co-ordinators of Primary, Middle, High and Plus Two level as well as Activity Co-ordinator.
