With a vision to cultivate one million child innovators in India, Atal Innovation Mission by NITI Aayog and Government of India envisaged a novel programme - establishment of Atal Tinkering Laboratories in schools across the country. There were about 13,000 applications received from all over the country. After the screening process 535 schools were shortlisted for the 2nd round which was held at 6 different centres. Finally 257 schools were selected for establishing the Atal Tinkering Laboratories with the support of the NITI Aayog.

Today, D. B. M. S. English School is very proud to inaugurate the first Atal Tinkering Laboratory in Jharkhand. Mr. Anand Sen, President, TQM and Steel Business at Tata Steel was the Chief Guest and inaugurated this new venture. The lab will inculcate skills such as design mind set, computational thinking, adaptive learning etc., to be in synch with the global scenario.

All the members of the School Managing Committee, Members of Board of Trustees, Committee Members of various units, Principal, Vice-Principal, Co-ordinators, teachers and senior students were present. Mrs. Lalitha Chandrashekhar, Jt. Chairperson, D. B. M. S. Board of Trustees gave the welcome address. The Principal - Mrs. Rajani Shekhar described the school's ATL journey so far. Mr. B. Chandrashekhar, Jt. Chairperson, D. B. M. S. Board of Trustees elaborated on the future plans for the Atal Tinkering Lab. The Chief Guest - Mr. Anand Sen congratulated the school and wished the students many happy hours of tinkering. 

Mrs. Bhanumathi Neelakantan, Founder and Chairperson, DBMS Board of Trustees presented a memento to the Chief Guest and expressed her joy on this momentous occasion.
