It gives me great pleasure and pride to address this gathering of people whom I’ve known and loved since childhood. Today, this night, is the last night when all of us are together, assembled at one place. All of us who have shared the best part of our lives together, school life. We have very special memories of the school days together. Memories which will draw out a smile on our faces even in the saddest of days and which can also draw out tears from our eyes in the happiest of hours. Memories born and nourished in this very school, our own D.B.M.S. English School.

This Alma mater has been like a second home for us. A home where we have laughed, cried, played, loved and have become who we are. We have lived a wonderful life here. In this home of ours we have had several parents, those in the face of our teachers. Teachers who have loved us, cared for us, scolded us for our mistakes and have prepared us for the outside world. From holding our hands and teaching us how to write, to scolding the same hands for bursting crackers or getting into a fight… How can we ever repay you for all that you have done for us? No matter what we do, we cannot thank you enough for all that you have done for us.

But today on behalf of each and every student present here, I promise you that we will go out and will give our best , to try and live up and to your hopes and expectations. The least that we could do for you is not let you down, and we promise to do that. Teachers we will ever remain grateful to you and will always love you from the bottom of our hearts.

Not only the teachers, each and every person associated with this great institution has played a significant part in moulding our lives. From aaya didis to bhahadur jis to the respected members of the management, we thank you for your blessings so that we may succeed wherever we go and in whatever we do. It is not possible to express all that there is in the heart. So to summarise it shortly and to end, I would like to quote a few lines from our school anthem, “O hail D.B.M.S., we are proud of you, we’ll be true to you forever”.
