Recent Events

The morning of  2nd July, 2011, Saturday witnessed the first intr-house commerce quiz organized by the teachers of D. B. M. S. English School.  BIZ-QUIZ 2011 was the first event that was organised by the school highlighting the importance of commerce, accounts and economics to the students of the commerce stream of standard IX, X, XI and XII.  “The event was conducted to create general awareness among the students and highlight the specialties and twists and turns of the subject” said Mrs. Rajani Shekhar, the Principal  of D. B. M. S. English School.  All the  four house (i.e. Green, Red, Yellow and Blue) participated with back team comprising four participants from each house.  Each house comprised two students from Std. XII, one student from Std. XI and one from the Std. X.  The quiz was conducted by Mr. Siddhartha Sen who is one of the senior most English Teachers of the D. B. M. S. English School.

Bhanumathi Neelakantan AwardsThe XVII Award Ceremony of the Bhanumathi Neelakantan Awards of Jamshedpur was held on Monday, 25 April, 2011, at 6:30 pm. Mrs Surekha Nerurkar (educator and social worker) was the Chief Guest and Mrs. Urmila Singh the Guest of Honour. There are five categories under which the awards are given. This year 2011, saw the 20th Annual Inter School Seuli Seal Memorial Quiz. It was conducted on Friday, 28th January, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at D. B. M. S. English School Auditorium. 16 schools from different parts of the city participated in the written preliminary round out of which six top teams qualified. They are:

  • Loyola School
  • Sacred Heart Convent School
  • Tagore Academy
  • Kerala Samajam Model School
  • Little Flower School
  • D. B. M. S. English School

During the Joy of Giving Week 5 students of std.VII took part in the”Design for Change” project where they interacted with about 150 students of the Lilliput School, Sonari (school for under privileged) in the month of Sept. 2010.

A visitor from WalesThe International School Award, ISA, challenge came as a breath of fresh air into our school’s existing curriculum and brought with it, a new approach to learning.

We took a plunge into the projects of the International School Award with all sincerity and truly enjoyed every moment of it. Everyone experienced a heady sense of pride with each small success which ultimately led to an even bigger success.
