Q. Did you ever look at yourself as the Miss India in the school days?

A. Yes, I always visualized myself adorning the prestigious and I feel that every person should dare to dream as I did and worked towards it to fulfill it one day.

Q. Who was the inspirational force behind you?

A. My parents, I don’t have to think twice about it. They were extremely supportive. My father went out of his means to help me morally, financially and emotionally and in every way they possibly could.

Q. Being born in a middle class Indian family what hurdles did you face, overcame and how did you emerge successful?

A. Hassles were many. Being alone in Mumbai and Pune, cooking and taking care of myself just out of my mother’s arms was difficult indeed. But I was very focused and had full fledged support of parents so hurdles did not matter much.

Q. How were your school days?

A. School days were so much fun. Those were probably the best days of my life. Though we had our share of fun we never let anyone complain against us as our code of conduct was appreciable. We never bunked classes (She laughs).

Q. Did luck play a key role in your life?

A. Yes, luck did play a very important role in my way to success. Emerging out of crowd in a place like Mumbai where thousands of youngsters aspire to be glamorous was not a mere cakewalk. I worked hard and at the same time luck favored me at every point of my life.

Q. People who emerge successful in the fashion industry normally plunge into the tinsel town. What are your plans?

A. Yes, its true I’m getting loads of offers today from the film industry.

Q. Did your becoming Miss DBMS give you an incentive to become a model?

A. Oh yes! It did, definitely.

Q. What was your first breakthrough into the glamour world?

A. I used to participate in the college fashion shows where I was spotted by a lady who then gave me a chance to walk on the ramp in front of a large number of spectators. But the actual turning point of my life was the music video of UMI- 10 “Saiyan Dil Me Aana Re”. Working in front of the camera Infused confidence in me.

Q. Your message to the students who are aspiring to have a career in the fashion Industry.

A. Please, please, please complete your studies first. Do not take any impulsive decision. Surf the net for information and follow the right channel to achieve your goal. Its true that even a small city like Jamshedpur builds up a base but to be there you have to be in a big city, fight the ordeals with the rivals. Do not be misguided and have faith in yourself and God. I wish you all a very good luck in life.
