Jamshedpur, Jan. 28: "What does PNR in a railway ticket stand for?", "Which city is known as the Manchester of South Asia?", "Who was the sportsman to win the 1st Dronacharya award?", "Which state is known as the temple state?" and "Who is the singer of Sacrifice?".

Facing these and a volley of other questions were six teams of Class V, VI and VII students at the 14th Seuli Seal Memorial Quiz Contest at DBMS English School. In a nail-biting finish, the contest saw the boys of Loyola School pitting their mettle against the students of Little Flower School (LFS), but it was the final tie-breaker that made the latter clinch the title.

Of the 13 city-based schools which participated in the contest, only six teams of DBMS English School, Kerala Samajam Model School (KSMS), Rajendra Vidyalaya (RV), Little Flower School (LFS), Loyola School and Gulmohar High School, made it to the final rounds.

The KSMS students managed to garner points by answering "Passenger Name Record" to the full form of "PNR". Though the participants managed to get their answers right with "Kolkata" being the first Science City in the country, they faltered at the teaser for the city known as the "Manchester of South Asia". It was a Geography teacher who came up with the right answer, "Coimbatore".

While both DBMS English School and KSMS opened their account in the first round, the rest of the participants gathered points in the "Sports" round.

It was a quite a cakewalk for the teams to answer questions related to cricket but they lost out on boxer O. Nambiar, the first Dronacharya awardee.

The visual round too came as a relief for the students, who made no mistakes identifying persons. Only Lakshmi Mittal, the recently declared "Europe Businessman of the year" was a new face for the young quizzing wizards. The audio round was fun for the participants as well as the audience.

Results at the end of the final rounds brought Loyola and LFS to a tie-breaker, leaving the initial lead scorers DBMS English School and KSMS way behind.

The tie-breaker proved to be a cliffhanger with no winner even at the end of 10 questions. Finally, it was the punch line ?Your home in the sky?, which gave LFS the extra points to clinch the title. Answering "Indian Airlines", the team of Rahul Srivastava, Arkesh, Aishwarya Mishra and Prabpreet Singh lifted the trophy.
