The Annual Sports Day of D.B.M.S. English School was held on 20th December 2022 on the school ground. The students of the four houses Blue, Green, Red and Yellow displayed the true spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie as they competed for the coveted Sports Awards of various kinds.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr Anand Menezes, an Olympian and Senior Sports Manager at Tata Steel. There was a spectacular display of March Past by the students of the four houses from classes 10 to 12. The parade was led by the Commander in Chief, Suprit Patnaik. He was followed by the School Senate and the National Squad. They were followed by the Captains and Vice-captains of the four houses leading their respective houses. The torchbearers were Amandeep Kaur of X E and Sheetal Singh of VIII D. The Chief Guest unfurled the sports flag and declared the meet open.
Thereafter the students of class III presented a synchronistic and scintillating drill display titled ‘Song of the Sea' followed by the students of class V, who presented a drill display called ‘Flow with the Rhythm’. The drill titled ‘’Shimmer and Shine' presented by the students of class VII celebrated the achievements of Indian Sportsmen and Sportswomen at the Commonwealth Games, 2022. The Karate drill was presented by the students of classes IV to VII.
A number of events were conducted in different categories on the day. The Sports Day celebrations concluded with the Closing Ceremony.
