The Annual Sports Day of DBMS English School was held on 20th December, 2023. The school field was resplendent with colourful flags. A spirit of healthy competition as well as camaraderie reverberated throughout the air.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. J.P. Singh, Head Coach of India Basketball team. He has also been an international player. There was a spectacular display of March Past by the students of the four Houses. The parade was led by the Commander in Chief, Amna Khan. She was followed by the Captains and Vice - Captains leading their respective Houses. The students who made us proud at the National level by winning gold, silver and bronze medals in the CISCE Boxing, Hockey, Handball, Atheletics and many more, constituted the National Squad.
Thereafter, the students of class 7 displayed their drill, "Rhythm in Motion', which was a unique fusion of Yoga and Zumba. There was a performance put up by the Karate students. The students of class 3 put up a drill display titled "Moment of Glory", celebrating India's giant leap in space exploration and Lunar Mission with the launching of Chandrayaan 3. "Fluttering Fantasy" was the drill displayed by the students of class 5 showcasing vibrant colours, zeal and great triumphant glory.
Many spectacular track events were conducted for the students of primary, middle and high students. There were events for the staff members, parents, ex- students and also the sub - staff. Each participant put in his / her best efforts. All the prize winners were given medals and certificates by the Patron, Mrs. Bhanumathi Neelakanthan, the Chairperson, Mr. Chandrashekhar, the Secretary, Mrs. Archana Ramesh, the Joint Secretary, Mrs. Priya Nagarajan, the Treasurer, Mrs. Lalitha Seshadri, the Joint Treasurer, Mrs. Nandhini Vanjeshwaran, the Principal, Mrs. Rajani Shekhar, the Vice Principal, Mr. P.K. Sahu, the Co - ordinators, Mrs Manisha Bhattacharya, Mrs. Divya Nair, Mrs. Bhuvna Sridhar and Mrs. Mitu Bannerjee. The Judges of the Track for the day were Mr. K. Venugopal Rao, Mr. V. Arun Kumar and Mr. Arun Murty.
The Sports Day brought in great victory for the Red House as they were the champions of the day. Finally, the Sports Day was concluded with the Closing Ceremony where the Principal, Mrs. Rajani Shekhar thanked the Chief Guest, the menbers of the Press and Media, the Members of the School Management, Staff Members, the Officials, the Students, the Games Department and the Sub - Staff for their whole hearted co - operation to make the Annual Sports Day a grand success.
