The Annual Sports Day of D.B.M.S English School was held on 18th December 2024 at JRD Tata Sports Complex. The field was ablaze with energy and enthusiasm. Flags fluttered proudly in the breeze, adding colour to the vibrant scene.
The students of the four houses; Red, Green, Yellow and Blue committed to the true spirits of sportsmanship displayed confidence, their faces filled with anticipation for the challenges ahead.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mrs. Vibhuti Dhand Adesara, the head of sports events and training centres in Tata Steel Ltd. The august gathering was graced by the presence of the members of the school managing committee, Principal of the D.B.M.S English School, Mrs. Rajani Shekhar, Vice Principal Mr. P.K. Sahu and co-ordinators of the various levels.
The rhythmic steps of the March Past echoed across the field, signalling the start of the day’s festivities. With synchronized steps, the students marched confidently led by the commander – in –chief Tamanna Bose followed by the school senate comprising the Head Boy Yuvraj Sethi - XII A, Head Girl N. Vidisha - XII D, Mridul Agarwal - XII C, Srishti Rani - XII A, Anushka Kumari - XII B, Muskan Sona - XII B, Pratham Sandhu - XII A, Sunder Choudhary - XII C and Y.B.Sidhharth - XII A.
The House Captains and Vice-Captains were leading their respective squads. Captain of the Red House Ayush Raj - XI A and Vice-Captain Adarsh Ranjan - IX E led their squad, followed by the Green House led by the Captain Shreyam Modi- XI D and Vice-Captain Snehil Raj - IX D. The Yellow House was led by Captain Sattwik Das - XI A and Vice-Captain Ashaan Kumar - IX C followed by Blue House Captain Richa Arvind Singh - XI D and Vice Captain Jasmine Aggarwal - IX A.
The National Squad comprising students who had played at the National Level and won medals in the CISCE Volleyball, Swimming, Handball, Chess etc. was also an integral part of the parade. The March Past was followed by a drill display by the students of Std. V titled Circle of Unity, which was a vibrant portrayal of unity, where each formation spoke about the strength that comes from standing together. With every coordinated step, the drill display by Std.VII - Building Bridges Through World Peace, stood as a pledge for a world where peace and goodwill reign supreme. Std II presented an umbrella drill named Blazing Fury. With each graceful turn, the umbrella drill transformed the field into a mesmerizing scene of colourful harmony. The students of Std. III, echoing the pulse of the day’s energy with their footballs, presented the drill Basketball Blitz.
Thereafter, the students put up a Karate performance.
The students of various levels participated in the races and other sporting events with enthusiasm bringing glory to their respective houses. The meet concluded with Red House bagging the overall championship. The trophy for the best March Past was won by Green House. Individual Championship at the Primary level was won by Ranesha Dutta of Std. IV D. Individual Championship at the Sub- Junior level was bagged by Sufiyan Khan of Std. VI C. The Individual Championship at the Junior level was won by Md. Ayaan Altamash of Std. VII D. Ayushi Kumari of Std. XI D bagged the Individual trophy at the Senior level. The meet ended with the School Anthem followed by the National Anthem.
