Students shine in the Bishwadeep Sarkar Memorial Inter-School Environment Quiz 2025

D B.M.S English School proudly hosted the Bishwadeep Sarkar Memorial Inter-School Environment Quiz on 13th August, 2025 – an annual quiz held in loving memory of Bishwadeep Sarkar, a cherished former student. Bishwadeep's father, former Vice- Principal of DBMS English School, Mr. Sunil Sarkar was present during the quiz.

The Quiz was conducted by the dynamic Quizmaster Saptashwa Dasgupta and supported by student volunteer Harshit Vig.

Staying true to the spirit of fairness, the host school did not compete, instead offering the platform to students from other schools in grades VIII to X, to showcase their knowledge.

Nineteen schools took part in the preliminary round, with the following five reaching the finals:

  1. Narbheram Hansraj English School
  2. Rajendra Vidyalaya
  3. Kerala Public School, Gamharia
  4. Sacred Heart Convent School
  5. Loyola School

The grand finale comprised five engaging rounds that tested students on a wide range of topics, demanding both quick thinking and accuracy.

In Round 1, the teams were quizzed on ecology. Round 2 was about science trivia. Round 3 tested their knowledge on global environment. Round 4 was about the natural marvels of India. Round 5 was a mixed bag, ranging from important events to personalities.

Graced by the D.B.M.S Management Committee and supported by the Principal, Ms. Rajani Shekhar and Vice Principal Mr. P.K. Sahu, the event ran seamlessly, infused with their invaluable guidance and support.

The quiz emerged as more than an academic contest, instilling awareness, and hope for a greener, more sustainable future.

Loyola School emerged as the winner in a closely contested competition with 160 points. The second place was claimed by Sacred Heart Convent School with 40 points and Rajendra Vidyalaya secured third place with 35 points.
