The Dramatics Club of D.B.M.S. English School organised “Theatrics 2025” on 28th November 2025, in which an English play titled “The Day the Internet Died” and a Hindi play titled “Gen Z” were staged.
The plays comprised participants ranging from Std. VII to Std. XI.
The judges for the English play were Ms. Nandini Mehta and Mrs. Uma Vaidya, while the Hindi play was judged by Ms. Dharma Patnaik and Mr. Dhiraj Ranjan.
The English segment of the event showcased the influence of the internet on the lives of the present generation and their unhealthy dependency on it. It highlighted how the internet is a necessity but not compulsory—something best used in moderation.
The Hindi play gave us a glimpse into the lives of Gen Z, a generation full of ideas and ambition. Each act, though different from the others, showcased the complex personas of this generation.
The first act depicted how glamour becomes guidance and friends become influences, leading people to make decisions with dire consequences.
The second act brought us into a world where reels become reality, smiles are filtered, and showed how Rohan and Aaliya overcome the ominous “reel devil.”
The third act highlighted how family expectations weigh heavily on the heart, and dreams are often buried under the fear of “What will people say?”
