The Annual Sports Day of D.B.M.S English School was held on 18th December 2025 at JRD Tata Sports Complex.
The field buzzed with excitement and high spirits. Flags waved gracefully in the breeze, adding a splash of colour to the lively atmosphere.
The students of the four houses; Red, Green, Yellow and Blue embraced the true essence of sportsmanship, displaying confidence, wearing expressions full of eagerness for the competitions ahead.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Hemant Gupta, the head of TSAF and Sports Academics of Tata Steel and CEO of Hockey Ace Foundation. The august gathering was graced by the presence of the members of the School Managing Committee, Principal of the D.B.M.S English School, Mrs. Rajani Shekhar, Vice Principal Mr. P.K. Sahu and coordinators of the various levels.
The coordinated steps of the March Past resonated through the field, marking the beginning of the day’s celebrations. With perfectly timed movements, the students advanced confidently, led by the commanders Shreyas Das, Anindita Das and Aryan Raj. The School Senate comprised the Head Boy Shafaque Ahmad Khan - XII A, Head Girl Richa Arvind Singh - XII D, Ayush Raj - XII A, Debanjana Sen - XII A, Jasmine Nagi - XII B, Puranjay Murarka – XII C. Harshit Vig – XII D, Ania Gupta – XII D.
The National Squad comprising students who had played at the National Level and won medals in the CISCE Volleyball, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Archery, Hammer Throw, Chess etc. was also an integral part of the parade. Students of the primary squad from classes I, II, and III, participated in March Past. They were dressed as personnel of the Army, Navy and Air force showcasing discipline and patriotism.
The House Captains and Vice-Captains were leading their respective squads. Captain of the Red House Shlok Mukherjee and Vice-Captain Simarjeet Singh led their squad, followed by the Blue House led by the Captain Vishesh Sinha and Vice-Captain Siddharth Agarwal. The Green House was led by Captain Jiggyasa Chatterjee and Vice-Captain Samarjeet Chatterjee, followed by Yellow House Captain Pranit Ranpara and Vice-Captain Shubham Guha.
The March Past was followed by a drill display by the students of Kg II titled, The Glacial Guardians, highlighting the importance of environmental conservation, promoting awareness about nurturing nature, saving water and safeguarding the Earth. Through synchronized movements, the drill Trustful Hearts and Peaceful Steps by Std VI, conveyed a powerful message that peace begins with trust, unity and mutual respect. The students of Std IV brought the Solar System to life through the drill, Space Journey, celebrating togetherness, respect and diversity in the universe. Thereafter, the students put up a Karate performance.
The students of various levels participated in the races and other sporting events with enthusiasm, bringing glory to their respective houses. The meet concluded with Red House bagging the overall championship. The trophy for the best March Past was won by Green House. Individual Championship at the Primary level was won by Vani Khandelwal of Std IV D (Red House). Individual Championship at the Sub- Junior level was bagged by Sandhya Kumari of Std VI B (Red House) . The Individual Championship at the Junior level was won by Aiysha Shahanawaz of Std VIII E (Green House). Angelina Agarwal De of Std XI A (Red House) bagged the Individual trophy at the Senior level. The meet ended with the School anthem followed by the National anthem.
