The Annual Prize Night for the senior sections of D.B.M.S. English School was celebrated with great enthusiasm and splendor on the evening of 18th April, 2026 in the school auditorium . The event aimed to recognized and reward the hardwork, talent and achievements of students in academics, sports and co-curricular activities.
The wonderful evening was graced by the presence of Dr. Rahul Kumar Shukla, Convener – XAT and admissions at XLRI.
Shantanu Jha, a student, made the audience aware of the safety rules. The introduction of the program was given by Rishit of Std. XII A. This was followed by the academic procession of the rankers. Mrs. Divya Nair, the Co-Ordinator of the High School led the rankers of Standard VIII and IX. Mrs. Manisha Bhattacharya, Co-Ordinator of the Plus Two Level led the rankers of Standard X and Standard X Special Awardees. Awardees of Standard XI, XII and General Special Awardees were led by the School Principal Mrs. Rajani Shekhar and Vice-Principal Mr. P.K. Sahu.
The proceedings of the evening began with the welcome speech given by Sharanya Jha, which was followed by the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Dr. Rahul Kumar Shukla and other dignitaries. This was followed by a beautiful prayer dance put up by our students.
The Chief Guest was introduced to the audience by Vritti Agarwal of Std. XII D and a plant was presented to him as a token of appreciation. Thereafter, our Honorable Principal Mrs. Rajani Shekhar presented the school report highlighting the achievements of the school in varied fields of brilliance.
Then came the much awaited moment for the proud awardees. Standard XII Special Awardees were awarded by the Chief Guest and our Patron, Mrs. Bhanumathi Neelkanthan. The award for Proficiency in English, Economics and Commerce was received by Richa Arvind Singh of Std. XII D. The Shahji Memorial Trophy for Proficiency in Hindi was received by Supriya Deo of Std. XII C. The award for Proficiency in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry was received by Mayank Raj of Std. XII A. The award for Proficiency in Biology was received by Ayaan Karim of Std. XII B. The award for Proficiency in Computer Science was received by Harshit Vig of Std. XII D. The award for Proficiency in Accounts was received by Siddhi Nagelia of Std. XII D. The Best Athlete Award was received by Siddhant Ray of Std. XII C. The award for Cultural Attainment was received by Shubho Ghosh of Std. XII B. The award for Excellence in sports was received by Prachi Agarwal of Std. XII C. the award for efficiency in Games & Studies was jointly received by Shaurya Kumar Jaiswal & Aditya Pratap Sinha of Std XII A. The All Rounder Award for the Science Section was received by Jesvin Nagi of Std. XII B. Richa Arvind Singh of Std. XII D received the All Rounder Award for the Commerce Section.
Thereafter, an enlightening speech by the Chief Guest inspired students to excel in their lives and to make their Alma Mater proud by leaving an indelible mark in their chosen field. The Chief Guest was presented a memento.
The rankers of Standard VIII A, B and C were awarded by Mrs. Divya Nair. Rankers of Standard VIII D, E and IX A were awarded by Mrs. Manisha Bhattacharya. Rankers of Standard IX B, C and D were awarded by Mrs. Archana Ramesh, Secretary of the School Management Committee. Rankers of Standard IX E, X A and X B were awarded by Mrs. Priya Nagrajan, Joint Secretary of the School Management Committee. Rankers of Standard X C, D and E were awarded by Mrs. Lalitha Sheshadri, Treasurer of the School managing committee.
This was followed by the Secretary’s Report which was presented by Mrs. Archana Ramesh, Secretary of the School managing committee.
The Chairperson of the School Managing Committee, Mrs. Lalitha Chandrashekhar and Dr. B. Chandrashekhar gave away the Std. X, special awards. The G. Madhav Prabhu Memorial Trophy for General Proficiency in Std. X was received by Adrika Chandra of Std. X C. The award for Proficiency in English, History & Geography was received by Adrika Chandra of Std. X C. The award for Proficiency in Hindi was jointly received by Adrika Chandra & Devanshi Shreya of Std. X C. The award for proficiency in Mathematics & Chemistry was received by Aarav Jhunjhunwala of Std, X A, The award for proficiency in Physics, Biology and Computer Application was received by Devansh Kedia of Std. X A. The Vittal Pai Memorial Shield for General Knowledge was received by Siddhant Jha of Std. X A. The Kishore Pai Memorial Trophy for Cultural Attainment was received by Sayan Choudhury of Std. X D. The Kishore Pai Memorial Trophy for Excellence in Sports was received by Janvi Agarwal of Std. X E. The Best Athlete Award was shared by Janvi Agarwal and Ayush Suren of X E. The Achievement Award for securing maximum increase in the year’s total from Std. IX to Std. X was received by Akshat Modi of Std. X D. The All Rounder Trophy along with a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- for the Best Student of Std. X for excellence in Academics, Sports and Co-curricular Activities was received by Siddhant Jha of Std. X A. The Special Recognition Ranker Award was received by Naman Patnaik of Std. X E.
The Std. XI special awards were given away by the vice principal of the school Mr. P.K. Sahu. The award for Proficiency in Hindi was received by Swastika of Std. XI C. The award for Proficiency in Physics , Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science and Physical Education was received by Vansh Jawanpuria of Std. XI A. The Award for Biology was received by Kumar Avinash of XI B. The Award for scoring highest marks in English, Applied Maths, Economics, Accounts and Commerce was received by Kunal Khemka of Std. XI C.
The General Special awards were given by the Principal, Mrs. Rajani Shekhar. The V.P. Upadhyay Memorial Shield for scoring highest marks in the I.C.S.E. Board Examination in the year 2024-2025 was received by Vansh Jawanpuria. The award for scoring highest marks in the I.S.C. Board Examination of the year 2024-2025 from the Science Stream was received by Nikunj Agarwal. The award for scoring highest marks in the I.S.C. Board Examination of the year 2024-2025 from the Commerce Stream was received by Adarsh Kabra. The Best Speaker Award in Std. IX and X Level was received by Siddhant Jha of X A. The Award for the Best Student of Std. VIII was received by Jivaj Jayasis Sahoo of Std VIII C. The Award for the Best Student of Std. IX was bagged by Souryadipta Sarkar of IX B. The Trophy for the Maximum Players in the School Team went to Std. XI A. The coveted trophy for the Best House went to the Blue House.
The Recognition for Backdrop Designing of the Annual Prize Night for the Academic Session 2025-2026 was shared by Angelina De Agarwal, Saurav Mishra, Rishit, And Soumya Shaw.
Thereafter, Richa Arvind Singh, Headgirl of the School Senate, presented the Valedictory speech. On this grand occasion a teacher was also felicitated by the Chairperson Mrs. Lalitha Chandrashekhar for her long service and commitment to the school. The proud recipient of this award was Mrs. Shyamala Srinivasan.
Thereafter, the vote of thanks was proposed by Ania Gupta, a student of the school senate. This grand evening came to an end with the rendition of the school anthem and the academic procession leading out.
