Students shine in the Bishwadeep Sarkar Memorial Inter-School Environment Quiz
On 19th September 2026, D.B.M.S English School proudly hosted the annual Bishwadeep Sarkar Memorial Inter-School Environment Quiz, held in loving memory of Bishwadeep Sarkar, a cherished former student. The event was a tribute to his legacy. His father, Mr. Sunil Sarkar, was the Ex- Vice Principal of D.B.M.S. English School.
The quiz was conducted by the dynamic quizmaster Pratyay Amrit, an ex-student of D.B.M.S. English School, who brought enthusiasm and expertise to the event.
In keeping with the spirit of fairness and sportsmanship, the host school did not participate in the competition. Instead, the platform was offered to students from other schools in grades VIII to X, providing them an opportunity to showcase their environmental knowledge and quick thinking.
Participation and Finalists
Fifteen schools participated in the preliminary round, demonstrating keen interest and competitive spirit. After a challenging selection process, the following five schools advanced to the grand finale:
- Carmel Junior College
- Narbheram Hansraj English School
- Chinmaya Vidyalaya
- Loyola School
- Kerala Samajam Model School
The grand finale featured five engaging rounds that tested students on a wide range of environmental topics, requiring both accuracy and quick thinking. The rounds were designed to challenge the participants’ depth of knowledge and their ability to apply it under pressure.
The event was graced by the presence of the D.B.M.S Management Committee and was supported wholeheartedly by the Principal, Mr. P. K. Sahu, and Vice Principal, Mrs. Divya G. Nair.
Their invaluable guidance and support ensured the smooth running of the quiz and inspired the participants.
More than just an academic contest, the quiz served as a platform to instill awareness and hope for a greener, more sustainable future among young minds.
Loyola School emerged as the winner in a closely contested competition, scoring 125 points.
The second place was claimed by KERALA SAMAJAM MODEL SCHOOL, with 20 points.
Carmel Junior College secured third place, earning 15 points.
The winners were honoured for their knowledge, dedication, and commitment to environmental causes, bringing the spirited contest to a fitting and inspiring close.
